Do we have to wear warning
waistcoats in Italy?
There is no difference between
Italy and most other countries in the E.U.
The wearing of reflectorised jacket / waistcoat compulsory if driver and / or
passenger exits vehicle which is immobilised on the carriageway at night or in
poor visibility.
What are the speed limits in
Europe ?
The speed limit on motorways is
generally 110, 120 or 130 km/h and the limit in built-up areas is 50 or 60 km/h.
Keep an eye on the signs to make sure of the exact limits and any special
conditions that apply.

How do we know if there are
any more places available ?
It's very simple. Once you
registred you'll receive a confirmation mail. If there a no more places
available we will send you a mail saying the rally is fully booked and it will
be advertised on the website.
Also if we are fully booked the SUBMIT button on the registration form will no
longer be present.
Do we get a confirmation when
the money transfer is complete ?
Yes of course. Once the money
reaches our account a confirmation will be sent to you. Be aware that
international money transfers can take up to more than a week.
Do we have to register for the
Barcelona Harley Days ?
No not at all. HOG Europe is
offering us the rally pack. The only fee to pay is the parking fee if you go to
the event with your bike. Our hotel is located in walking distance of the event
so you can leave your bike at the secured bike parking of the hotel.
I have always studied the
American Posse Rides in the HOG TALES. Will we have also a POSSE OATH, get ten
special coins for impresive people we`ll meet during our RIDE, will we get a
POSSE STARTER BOX before the RIDE...and so on??? How far the EUROPEAN POSSE TEAM
follows the US POSSE model?
We can’t tell you all the secrets yet about the
European Posse Ride ( EPR)
Even though the organisation of the EPR is inspired by the American and South
African version of the Posse Ride, it will be quite different.
The spirit is to gather people from around the world to discover Europe together
in an original and unique way. The European Posse Team are ALL volunteers,
passionate HOG Riders and members, and they get the help of HOG Europe and
several chapters.
In the US, the Posse ride is more an individual ride with a roadbook on which
you discover a lot of nice places and people during the ride. In Europe we will
put the emphasis on the group ride ( groups of max 20 bikes ) with a lot of
interaction with European chapters ( But if you really want, you can do the ride
individually ). Our team will lead the ride and do the organisation but the ride
will be assisted by road-captains from the regional chapters which will be quite
unique. You will have the opportunity to meet all these people from all the
countries in Europe. A lot of chapters also organise a special event at night,
noon,….. but that’s still a secret.
We want to let the participants discover Europe, not by going to the big
well-known cities, but by riding through the different and beautifull regions in
Europe together with HOG friends. You will stay in small but nice cities,
locations,... and always in 3 and 4 **** hotels, so you will be able to shower
every day.
You will have to swear an oath but a different one, more “ European”. Coins is
something we don’t know in Europe, but we will provide other things: a great
rally package will be given to all participant.
This is all we can tell you for the moment without being being shot by our
friends from the team.
Do we have to
pay immediately the total amount of the trip?
Yes. As we are not a commericial organisation and organise the whole trip by
ourselves with the help of HOG and HOG Chapters. We have to pay accomodation,…
immediately as well.
Can we do a part of the Ride.
No, we have only limited number of 100 places available. It was already very
hard to find hotels in all these different regions for 100 people for 1 night,
so only participants who are doing the whole ride can join in. Another reason is
that there are several costs are included in the price, like the rent of a
truck, the packages, administration, financial costs, which are calculated for
the whole trip.
Where and when do we pay the rentals.
All rental bikes are provided by the ofiicial dealer and rental services:
American Lifestyle in Dendermonde ( see his website by clicking his logo ). A
seperate agreement will be made up between you and the dealership. Payment will
also be done immediately by the dealer. It is the plan that by the end of
january all documents concerning the rentals will be sent out to you by the
dealer or the Posse Team.
Don’t worry, everybody who has registered for a rental bike so far ( 6 december
2007 ), will have their bike.
We try to provide the bike you have chosen for the trip and you will be informed
as soon as possible.
Are we going to meet a lot of people during the
Ride.
Yes. Not only we have 100 partricipants, The Posse Ride is also a coöperation
between different chapters. This means that you will be guided by road-captains
from different chapters in their region. We also take part in the Swiss National
Rally at Brunnen ( very beautiful area ) where you will meet hundreds of H.O.G.
members.. Several “festivities“ are foreseen by the local chapters.
Do all hotels have shower and WIFI?
Yes. We are only staying in 3 and 4 **** hotels. They all have private shower or
bath as well as an internet-connection. All hotels are chosen by their nice
location and services. So you will be able to take a fresh swim in most of the
hotels, stay at exciting places and will have all necessary comfort for a nice
Ride.
What if we have to cancell the trip?
The Organisation can not refund your trip because of the costs made for you
already. However we will try to reimburse you if we are able to recuperate some
of the costs. We try to work with a waiting list, so if anyone else can take
your place, you will be repaid.
We have negociated a “cancellation-insurance” with the Company Protections. The
price will be 7% of the total amount of the trip. This insurance can be booked
