.: Colmar -> Davos - 350 km

Montains, lakes, “Foret Noire”.....

Another day,another country....this is certainly applicable today....
As we leave Colmar we cross the border into Germany immediately.
Nice country roads take us through an area called Schwarzwald(Black Forest)..  We will visit one of the biggest waterfalls of europe in the river Rhine before we enter into Switzerland.
We will ride again all local roads today (no motorway) alongside the Bodensee partly and enter again anothe country...Liechtenstein...well ! country is a big word here, but we do pass their borders twice....in about 10 minutes....to reenter Switserland again and swing along the valleys into the ski resorts of Davos/Klosters.

Today… A small country and crazy roads…

There are monasteries, castles and ruins - wonderful places where wonderful things happen, from which stories can unfold: sinister, comical, fanciful, mystic and mythical.

Whilst the southern Black Forest regions are home to the highest peaks in the mountain range and magnificent views as far as the Swiss Alps, and along the Rhine the Markgräflerland, Kaiserstuhl and Ortenau provide some of the most picturesque wine landscapes on which the best wine grapes ripen. Landscapes, now mostly disappeared from western Europe, are perfectly preserved in the countryside of the Black Forest. Shaped over hundreds of years of farming, the area has taken on its unmistakable appearance as a result. It is because of this that the entire Black Forest has been protected as a national park - the biggest in the whole of Germany.
